Where The Light Is | Colourpop Review!

вσиנσυя мєѕ αмσυяѕ

Today, after a long, unexcused, break from blogging, I'm back with a review of the 4 colourpop eye shadows made in collaboration with Kathleen Lights, a beauty guru on youtube.

Kathleen Lights truly is an amazing youtuber, her makeup looks and videos are great quality and i highly recommend you go and check her out: Kathleen Light
Also, here is her tutorial using the 4 shadows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY1d0ZzQJaY

I also purchased 2 lip products and an eyeliner, so maybe I'll review those too! :)

So as far as the actual quality of the eyeshadows, I do have 1 complaint. When i first swatched the eyeshadows i was AMAZED by the pigmentation and texture of these, they were so creamy and amazing. However, when using a brush to apply them to the eyelid, they take a while to build up and apply kind of streaky. This really shocked me because of all the amazing thing's i heard on youtube! But i guess a lot of reviews are sponsored so you never know who's being honest. That being said, these shadows apply really nicely when using your finger, so they are still worth it in my opinion!

The 4 shades i got are:

-Glow (the white/cream matte shade)

-Cornelious (the warm matte brown)

-Kathleenlights (the orange toned gold, pearlized finish)

-Blaze (the olive, bronzy shade, metallic finish)

All shadows come in a set called "Where The Light Is", sold for $20. OR can be purchased individually for $5.

Well that was my mini review, and in conclusion, for the price of these shadows, i really do think they are worth it!
Thank you so much for reading this post, i hope it was helpful to you if you were thinking about purchasing these shadows!
If you did enjoy, please share this and leave a comment! If you have a beauty blog, I'm currently looking to follow some so leave yours in the comments and we can all follow each other <3

Stila All Over Shimmer Powder - Kitten First Impression/Review

bonjour my loves!

today i thought i would post a quick review on something i received today, the stila highlighter in kitten.

this is sooo gorgeous!! i just place either one of the colors in the tops of my cheeks with my Real Techniques base shadow brush, since i don't have a highlighter brush. i actually really want the Morphe fan brush but i have never tried their brushes so i'll do some research before i make a purchase.

i would definitely recommend this for someone who wants a nice, not too intense, highlighter!

I'm not really sure how to describe a highlighter but i think the pictures show the color of them beautifully :)

thanks for reading this mini review :)

please share this and leave a nice comment (:

JERGENS Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer Review | Before and After Pictures

Bonjour my loves,

Happy 1st of October! Where on earth did September go?!

Today I am bringing you a review on the JERGENS Natural Glow Daily moisturizer!
The before and after pictures were taken in different locations and I'm sorry about that but I just took the AFTER picture, literally 5 minutes ago :)

As winter is approaching, I thought it would be appropriate to talk about a product that can keep your summer tan fresh all year!

Now this product is not a fake tanner, it is a moisturizer that gradually "creates color", which after using it for about 2 weeks, I can definitely agree with. I started using this everyday, and started seeing a difference in 2-3 days, I then started using it once every 2 days because I was satisfied with my tan.

It is so even and easy to use! The tan appeared naturally and the color is flawless. Also, I ALWAYS forget to moisturize so this is a good habit to have. The product itself is not "fake-tan/skin"color, it is colorless.

Just to put this out there, this is my opinion and I definitely recommend you reading more reviews before purchasing this product, just to make sure it's the perfect match for you! I did read some reviews before buying this, and many people complained about the smell. Since then the company have improved it and to be honest i actually love the smell of it!

Another reason why I started using it less regularly is because I noticed around my ankles was a little but uneven.. But not using it everyday quickly solved that! :) The directions do say to use sparingly on knees, elbows, and ankles, so if you do purchase this make sure you do that!

Also, the directions tell you to wash hands after application, which is something I didn't do the first couple of times, and i noticed that my nails were picking up a fake tan color, so I've obviously stopped doing that now, and they are back to normal.

Below I have a picture of the BEFORE & AFTER, + the front and back of the product so that you can read the directions/ingredients for yourself :)

And that's the review! I hope this helped you in some way, if it did, please share this or send it to 1 of your friends! :) let me know what your favorite moisturizer is!!

Thank you so much for reading, see you next week!

Best Netflix Shows 2015

Bonjour my loves,

I am aware that i have been gone for a VERY long time.. (over 6 months)
But I am back! Let's put the past behind us and get on with the blog post!! :)

Today I am going to be sharing my top 5 shows on Netflix. I enjoy a variety of shows and hope that you will share you favs in the comments!

1. Grey's Anatomy

This is my current favorite show, I am on season 2 and I think I may be obsessed! The actors are AMAZING and it's so realistic, I would recommend it to just about anyone.

2. Friends

Friends is an old favorite of mine, and will ALWAYS be a favorite. It's that show that you put on and just fall asleep to because you have seen all of the episodes at least 3 times.

3. Vampire Diaries

Now I know this show isn't for everyone, but... Ian Somerhalder!! I'm not going to go into too much detail about this but if you enjoy something quite dramatic, this is the show for you.

4. The Fosters

This is quite a light show to watch, if that makes sense. It's not too dramatic, it's easy to watch. I am really enjoying it, but I'm very upset that Jake T. Ausin is leaving!!

5. Pretty Little Liars

This is again an old favorite that i have started watching again. This is very dramatic and suspenseful which is why I love it so much!! I did skip season 6 and went straight ahead to find out who A is, and all i can say is that I was shocked...

And that's my Top 5 Netflix Shows! If you enjoyed this type of post please let me know in the comments, I absolutely love reading the ones I get! If you'd like me to check out your blog, again leave it in the comments and I will definitely have a look!

Thank you so much for reading, see you next week!

Naked 1 by Urban Decay | Swatches & Review

Happy New Year!

I hope you are all as exited as I am for 2015, sometimes we all just need a fresh start.

Forgive me for my very long and unexcused absence, I'm hoping to have a successful blogging year!

What better way to start the year than a new Swatches & Review post?

I am reviewing the first Naked Palette by Urban Decay. I am referring to it as Naked1 rather then just Naked to save any confusion.

I have already reviewed Naked 3, which is my most popular post! Give it a read if you'd like: (it will open in a new window) : Naked 3 by Urban Decay | Swatches & Reviews

Before I begin, I'm going to let you know that I don't plan on purchasing Naked2 as the colors are very similar to Naked1. If you have tried it, I would still love to hear your thoughts, let's see if you can change my mind haha :)

The palette has a total of 12 shades.

Here are 3 pictures of the shades in the palette:

The shades from left to right are: Virgin*; Sin; Naked*; Sidecar; Buck; Half Baked*; Smog; DarkHorse; Toasted*; Hustle; Creep; GunMetal*.

The ones with * next to them are my favorites.

I prefer Naked1 to Naked3 because you can achieve so many different looks, from a neutral day-to-day look, to a night time smokey eye. I have mainly used it for simple everyday makeup. My all-time favorite shade is Half-Baked. I have blue eyes, and gold colors tend to be very flattering and make your eyes pop. I love applying it to the center of my eyelid, with buck in the crease, and a darker, shimmery, color on the outer-v (such as Smog, DarkHorse or Hustle).

Here are the shades swatched on my arm:

This isn't very clear, but it's just to get an idea of how the shades would apply.

I do wish that there was a couple more matte shades, but apart from that I don't have anything negative to say.

I love the brush that comes with the palette, I mostly use the blender side which is amazing. The palette also comes with 4 samples of their different primers. Each sample does last for about a week's amount of makeup which is pretty good!

Naked1 costs $54 at Sephora. If you are interested in purchasing it, you can get a closer look at it on the Sephora website, which will probably have a lot more information than my blog post.

That's all from me today, thank you so much for reading! If you enjoyed this post please share it, the share bar is below this post, it'll really help me out! :)

Enjoy the rest of your day,

xx

Halloween 2014

Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Halloween.

I don't know about you, but I enjoy making myself look creepy for halloween.

So today I'm writing a quick blog post, to show you what I wore!

My "costume" is not anything specific, it's just a plain, large white t-shirt.

On a thin paintbrush I carefully painted on some white lines, then smudged them a bit. I let that dry then I added fake blood. You can use more or less blood depending on how you want it to look.

With that I just wore some black leggings and some vans.

Now onto my face.

What I used:
Black & purple eyeshadow
Black eyeliner
Black lipstick
Grey eyeshadow

I applied the black & purl eyeshadow to my eyelids and under my eyes quite messily to give myself that dead/tired look.

Then I used a black eyeliner in my water line, and to create some easy scars on the sides of my face.

Then the black lipstick on my lips, although I could've use red.

And I applied the grey eyeshadow to the hollows if my cheeks just to make my face look even more dead and slim.

And that's all I did! Pretty basic but looks quite cool in my opinion.

What did you dress up as for halloween? Let me know!!

I hope you had a wonderful day and I'll speak to you soon.

Bye!

Hair Care

Hi everyone, my laptop just crashed so I'm having to re-write this post :(

Today I am going to be sharing my hair care "routine".

I know this isn't the most interesting post, but for those of you who are interested, I hope you enjoy!

I wash my hair every other day because I honestly don't need to wash it everyday and it's bad for your hair.

For my shampoo & conditioner I use the Garnier Fructis Volume Extend. If you have really dry hair I don't recommend this because it's very light and fresh. But if you have dry hair and still want to try it out then scroll down and have a look at my favorite leave in conditioners. Oh, one more thing, these smell AMAZING.

Because my hair is a bit dry, and the conditioner I use isn't very effective, I like to use a conditioning mask once or twice a week. Recently, I've been using the Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser. It says to apply this from the roots to the tips of your hair, but when I do that my hair tends to get a bit oily, so I'd recommend just using this on the ends.

Out of the shower I use 2 leave in conditioners.

I use the L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil when I get out of the shower on my wet/damp hair. I use one pump on my hands and comb it through the ends of my hair.

On days that I don't wash my hair, it tends to look a bit dull and dry. To add some shine and moisture, I use the Tresemme Keratin Smooth leave in conditioner. Again, I just apply this to the ends of my dry hair. And if you have curly hair, any product with Keratin in is perfect.

And that's all I do to my hair! I hope this helped some of you & I hope you enjoyed!

Leave your favorite hair product in the comments for me and everyone else to see!

Thank you so much for reading, let me know what you want to see next week.

Please share this, it really helps me out! :)

I'm Still Here | MadForBeauty

                            Hey everyone!

I hope you're all having a wonderful day. I'm sorry for my absence recently, I honestly don't have the best excuse!

I'm back at school at the moment and I'm struggling to find time to write good quality posts.

This is just a really quick blog post on my updated "schedule":

I don't want to pressure myself into publishing on a certain day. I'm planning on writing when I feel comfortable and inspired. I'm going to review all new products I try, and I'm going to be writing about life style related things! I'm also going to attempt to post on my social media pages, but I don't have many followers and I don't think anyone's THAT interested! But if you would like to see some more of me on your social media then do let me know! :)

I hope you're all okay with these changes! I will be more active during holidays and things like that, but if I'm gone for a week or too don't worry, I'm still here and replying to ANY comments! :)

As always, leave your ideas in the comments xx

Thank you for reading and sticking with me, stay tuned for another post!

Questions & Answers

Hey everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Today I am answering your questions that I asked you to "submit" a couple of weeks ago. OF course this isn't the only Q&A that I will be writing, so if you have a question that I didn't answer, feel free to ask me in the comments or on my Instagram which is linked here.

Quick note: I've changed the font on my blog posts! Let me know what you think, I can't decide wether I like it or not!

On with the questions! :)

What are your top 3 makeup products that you could not live without?

Hmmm... that's a tough one. I would have to say concealer, powder, and mascara. If lip balm counts as a makeup product then I would replace concealer with lip balm.

What is your favorite color?

Maroon/burgundy or a light blue.

What aims do you have for your blog?

I don't really have plans for my blog at the moment, of course I'd like it to become successful, but for now I just wan't to please my readers with new and original content every week :)

Do you have any siblings?

Yes I have 1 older brother.

What is your favourite brand? Beauty and fashion x

My favorite beauty brand at the moment is probably Rimmel, I love their face products & my favorite fashion brand... hmm I'm not sure, I like the Kendall & Kylie range at Pacsun but I'm not sure if I'd count it as my favorite...

I'm looking for an intense smokey eye palette for the fall. Which one would you suggest?

This all depends on what colors you like, but I think a good, affordable, palette is one of the Wet n Wild eyeshadow palettes. They have a variation of colors and have great pigmentation!

What inspired you to start your blog?

Honestly? I was bored haha, but that's not the only reason. I love to write and I love everything beauty related so it's the perfect combination! I also love reading beauty & lifestyle blog posts, so if that's you, let me know so I can check it out! I'm always discovering new blogs, and I'd love to find some more.

What is your favorite beauty item at the moment?

I want to say mascara but I've used that answer already haha. I painted my nails yesterday and I am IN LOVE. I usually get them done professionally, but instead I did them  my self and I'm glad I did. Maybe I'll do a blog post on my favorite nail varnishes... Anyway, I'll say that that's my favorite beauty item at the moment.

And that's all the questions I received!

Big thanks to all of you who took the time to ask me these questions, it's an easy way for you to get to know me a bit better.

Thank you so much for reading, please let me know what blog posts you'd like to see! I reply to all comments so if you're curious about something just ask!

Stay tuned for next weeks post!

Bye!!

Mad For Favorites | September

Hi everyone, hope you are all have a great day.

Today I'm doing my first ever monthly favorites post, Mad For Favorites.

I probably won't do this every month because my favorites don't change that often but I will do it from time to time.

This may not be the most exiting post, and these aren't all beauty related, but if you want to know what I've been enjoying this month then stay tuned! :)

1. Flat Top Buffing Brush

First is this makeup brush. Let me start off by saying, I LOVE this. It's really nice quality, and blends my makeup in nice and smoothly. I use this when blending in my concealer, I buff the areas that just needs a bit of coverage, and pat all blemishes. I think that makes sense haha. I don't have expensive brushes, although I really want some, but the quality of this brush is amazing. I bought it from Target and that's all I can really say because I can't remember how much it was, sorry, I believe it was around $5.00, but don't quote me on that.

2. Shirts or Flannels

Next I've been loving wearing this flannel, or shirt however you may say it. This one is my FAVORITE because it's so comfy and casual. I like to wear this with some simple black leggings and my grey converse, or black wedged heels. Maybe I'll do an OOTD? Let me know if you'd like to see that. I bought this quite a while ago from Wet Seal, for about $20-$25.

3. Kellog's Nutri Grain

Quick disclaimer: I don't eat these because they claim to be healthy.
I recently discovered these, and they taste so amazing. If you're like me and you're too lazy to eat in the mornings before work or school, then you'll enjoy these, as long as you like apple and cinnamon of course. They're really handy just to eat in the car when you're in a rush (please don't eat and drive though haha). If you like cinnamon then these are definitely for you because the taste is quite strong. I think they're supposed to also give you a quick boost of energy? Correct me if I'm wrong.

4. Afterlight

Afterlight is an iPhone App for editing pictures and I LOVE it. It's my all time favorite editing app. I use it on all of my pictures on my personal Instagram and sometimes on my blog instagram @madforbeautyxo (If you go to my instagram from here, follow me and comment your blog name on one of my posts so I can follow you too!). If you're a fan of Kendall & Kylie Jenner then you'll like this because they use it ALOT. It's $0.99 on the Apple iTunes Store.

5. My Phone

Of course I have been loving my phone. Not much to say about that! Would you guys like to see a "What's On My iPhone" blog post? If so, please comment! I have the iPhone5s in gold, have any of you got the 6? Please excuse how dirty phone is, I hardly ever take the case off, I really need to clean it haha.

6. Beats

These use to be my brothers, but he got new ones so he gave them to me. Beats are so amazing, although I don't use them as much as I should.

 7. One Moment Perfume

Yes, I do like One Direction, but that's not the main reason why I bought this perfume. I can't describe the smell in many words but amazing. If you don't like 1D, doesn't matter. This is so worth $50. I'm interested in trying their new perfume, have you tried it? Also, the packaging is so cute!

8. Carmex Cherry Lip Balm

I think on one of my blog posts I mentioned the original carmex lip balm, which is just as amazing as this one, but I love the cherry scent/taste of this one! It's a very moisturizing lip balm, and good at healing dry or damaged lips. I don't think they're very expensive. You can buy them in most drugstores, I think you can get them in the UK.

9. Chains

I know this is a weird thing to put on a favorites list, but I've been seriously loving chains lately! Only there's one problem.. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WEAR THEM. I have this gorgeous one from Guess, it's a rose-gold color, and I really want to wear it. I have a couple of times but I don't know how to style my outfit with it... Love it anyway!

10. Bath & BodyWorks

And last but not least is this hand gel from bath and bodyworks. I love most of the scents, but this is my favorite at the moment. Warm Vanilla Sugar, ahhh, it makes me thing=k of warm hugs... haha. It smells amazing, and lasts for a while. It is quite strong so if you're sensitive with that sort of thing I wouldn't recommend it. My all time favorite one is the Stress Relief one, works like a charm! I don't have it at the moment unfortunately. But I highly recommend it!

And that's all I have for today!

I know this isn't the most exiting blog post, but I hope you enjoyed it!

For those of you wondering, the Q&A should be here shortly.

Thank you so much for watching, stay tuned for next week!

Bye!
