Happy New Year!
I hope you are all as exited as I am for 2015, sometimes we all just need a fresh start.
Forgive me for my very long and unexcused absence, I'm hoping to have a successful blogging year!
What better way to start the year than a new Swatches & Review post?
I am reviewing the first Naked Palette by Urban Decay. I am referring to it as Naked1 rather then just Naked to save any confusion.
I have already reviewed Naked 3, which is my most popular post! Give it a read if you'd like: (it will open in a new window) : Naked 3 by Urban Decay | Swatches & Reviews
Before I begin, I'm going to let you know that I don't plan on purchasing Naked2 as the colors are very similar to Naked1. If you have tried it, I would still love to hear your thoughts, let's see if you can change my mind haha :)
The palette has a total of 12 shades.
Here are 3 pictures of the shades in the palette:
The shades from left to right are: Virgin*; Sin; Naked*; Sidecar; Buck; Half Baked*; Smog; DarkHorse; Toasted*; Hustle; Creep; GunMetal*.
The ones with * next to them are my favorites.
I prefer Naked1 to Naked3 because you can achieve so many different looks, from a neutral day-to-day look, to a night time smokey eye. I have mainly used it for simple everyday makeup. My all-time favorite shade is Half-Baked. I have blue eyes, and gold colors tend to be very flattering and make your eyes pop. I love applying it to the center of my eyelid, with buck in the crease, and a darker, shimmery, color on the outer-v (such as Smog, DarkHorse or Hustle).
Here are the shades swatched on my arm:
This isn't very clear, but it's just to get an idea of how the shades would apply.
I do wish that there was a couple more matte shades, but apart from that I don't have anything negative to say.
I love the brush that comes with the palette, I mostly use the blender side which is amazing. The palette also comes with 4 samples of their different primers. Each sample does last for about a week's amount of makeup which is pretty good!
Naked1 costs $54 at Sephora. If you are interested in purchasing it, you can get a closer look at it on the Sephora website, which will probably have a lot more information than my blog post.
That's all from me today, thank you so much for reading! If you enjoyed this post please share it, the share bar is below this post, it'll really help me out! :)
Enjoy the rest of your day,
xx

Perfect Imperfections
There are a ton of dupes by different brands you could try out! Thanks for the read xxx
DeleteI've been eyeing this for a long while, but haven't bought it yet. Perhaps one day :)
ReplyDeleteNice swatches! I know it's always an on going debate, but I've always preferred Naked 2 to the original Naked.
