Hi everyone! I've been thinking a lot about what I should write about. I haven't been happy with what I've recently posted, I feel like I could've expressed myself in many other ways, better ways. I've decided that I'm going to write about things that I, personally, want to write, not what others expect me to write. I obviously want you all to enjoy what I write and also leave requests in the comments because I do take them all into consideration. I know that I don't have a huge 'audience', but I know there are a few of you that appreciate my blog.
Also, you may have noticed that I have been changing my blog layout. I am still trying to improve the way it looks.. Please let me know what you think needs changing.
Now on to the review...
As you all may know, Urban Decay is very well known for their Naked palettes, Naked1, Naked2 and Naked3. My personal favorite is Naked3 so that's what I am going to review today. I am writing this for the people who have heard about this palette and are wondering if it's worth the money.
I believe the Naked3 is around $50 depending on where you buy it from. The palette has 12 different eyeshadows, some are matte, some are shimmery and all are very pigmented.
Do excuse the quality of the photos, I am still taking them on my iPhone, but I assure you, that will all change very soon.
Enjoy!
This is the box that the palette comes in, mine included 4 samples of the Urban Decay primers. |
This is the packaging of the palette, very good quality. |
I must admit, at first I didn't plan on purchasing Naked3 because all of the eyeshadows are very pink. I've always been used to neutral eyeshadows, so this was a big step forward. If you really want to try a Naked palette, but want to stay neutral, I recommend the Naked Basics as they're very basic eyeshadows, obviously. Although, if you want a basic eyeshadow palette, you can definitely find a similar one to Naked Basics, for half the price. The list of drugstore eyeshadows could go on and on.. There are so many affordable ones that do just about the same job as high end ones would! But that's a whole other blog post right there. Now onto the swatches.. I want to point out that the photography from my iPhone does not do these shades justice. I will of course point out which eyeshadows are shimmery. First things first, the actual palette...
Dust, Burnout, Buzz, Trick, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside and Blackheart are the shimmery shades of the palette. Here are the swatches...
Shade names: Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart |

Sorry about the bad swatching in that last picture, I know I know, i had one job haha. I didn't use any type of primer before applying these, as I wouldn't when applying them to my eyes. I sometimes use a creme eye shadow base, but not all the time as eyeshadow sticks pretty well to my eyelids. As you can tell in the first swatch, the colors are all shades of pink, and in the second swatch, the colors are different shades of brown. That's another thing i love about the palette, I find that i can achieve many different looks with this one palette, which makes it more worth the money. But some of the shades do resemble to others. The only shade that really stands out is Trick. It's a gold shade, one of my favorite shades as it really makes blue eyes stand out (I have blue eyes by the way). Speaking of favorite shades, if i had to choose one, it would have to be Liar. I can't even begin to describe the shade, you have to apply it to understand how beautiful the color is.
If you are still in school, I would't recommend wearing this as it does look kind of heavy and obvious. I did go through a stage where I wore this to school pretty much every day. And looking back, it honestly isn't school appropriate. If you do like wearing this to school then by all means keep wearing it, this is just my opinion and my school so don't let that get in the way of how you feel and how you like to wear your makeup. I don't want to offend anyone with this.
If you need to use a primer then I would recommend the urban decay ones. I have tried all four, assuming there are only four, and I loved them. I personally wouldn't purchase them simply because i don't need them. They're probably a little pricey but I can tell you from the samples that a little bit goes a very long way. A full sized product would last a long time, so it's probably worth the money. But I can't tell you that as a fact obviously.
That is all I have to write about today! I am much happier with this post then I am with the last ones. I feel like they were rushed, and posted for the sake of it.
Sorry for all the changes in layouts, I can't promise that I won't be changing it again, I'm still trying to 'perfect' it, or just finding one that I'm happy with.
Leave a comment with any post requests, I reply to all of them!
