Naked 3 by Urban Decay | Swatches & Reviews

Hi everyone! I've been thinking a lot about what I should write about. I haven't been happy with what I've recently posted, I feel like I could've expressed myself in many other ways, better ways. I've decided that I'm going to write about things that I, personally, want to write, not what others expect me to write. I obviously want you all to enjoy what I write and also leave requests in the comments because I do take them all into consideration. I know that I don't have a huge 'audience', but I know there are a few of you that appreciate my blog.

Also, you may have noticed that I have been changing my blog layout. I am still trying to improve the way it looks.. Please let me know what you think needs changing.

Now on to the review...

As you all may know, Urban Decay is very well known for their Naked palettes, Naked1, Naked2 and Naked3. My personal favorite is Naked3 so that's what I am going to review today. I am writing this for the people who have heard about this palette and are wondering if it's worth the money.

I believe the Naked3 is around $50 depending on where you buy it from. The palette has 12 different eyeshadows, some are matte, some are shimmery and all are very pigmented.

Do excuse the quality of the photos, I am still taking them on my iPhone, but I assure you, that will all change very soon.

Enjoy!

This is the box that the palette comes in, mine included 4 samples of the Urban Decay primers.
This is the packaging of the palette, very good quality.
I must admit, at first I didn't plan on purchasing Naked3 because all of the eyeshadows are very pink. I've always been used to neutral eyeshadows, so this was a big step forward. If you really want to try a Naked palette, but want to stay neutral, I recommend the Naked Basics as they're very basic eyeshadows, obviously. Although, if you want a basic eyeshadow palette, you can definitely find a similar one to Naked Basics, for half the price. The list of drugstore eyeshadows could go on and on.. There are so many affordable ones that do just about the same job as high end ones would! But that's a whole other blog post right there. Now onto the swatches.. I want to point out that the photography from my iPhone does not do these shades justice. I will of course point out which eyeshadows are shimmery. First things first, the actual palette...

Shade names:
Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackhear
t
Dust, Burnout, Buzz, Trick, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside and Blackheart are the shimmery shades of the palette. Here are the swatches...

Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner
Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart
Sorry about the bad swatching in that last picture, I know I know, i had one job haha. I didn't use any type of primer before applying these, as I wouldn't when applying them to my eyes. I sometimes use a creme eye shadow base, but not all the time as eyeshadow sticks pretty well to my eyelids. As you can tell in the first swatch, the colors are all shades of pink, and in the second swatch, the colors are different shades of brown. That's another thing i love about the palette, I find that i can achieve many different looks with this one palette, which makes it more worth the money. But some of the shades do resemble to others. The only shade that really stands out is Trick. It's a gold shade, one of my favorite shades as it really makes blue eyes stand out (I have blue eyes by the way). Speaking of favorite shades, if i had to choose one, it would have to be Liar. I can't even begin to describe the shade, you have to apply it to understand how beautiful the color is.

If you are still in school, I would't recommend wearing this as it does look kind of heavy and obvious. I did go through a stage where I wore this to school pretty much every day. And looking back, it honestly isn't school appropriate. If you do like wearing this to school then by all means keep wearing it, this is just my opinion and my school so don't let that get in the way of how you feel and how you like to wear your makeup. I don't want to offend anyone with this.

If you need to use a primer then I would recommend the urban decay ones. I have tried all four, assuming there are only four, and I loved them. I personally wouldn't purchase them simply because i don't need them. They're probably a little pricey but I can tell you from the samples that a little bit goes a very long way. A full sized product would last a long time, so it's probably worth the money. But I can't tell you that as a fact obviously.

That is all I have to write about today! I am much happier with this post then I am with the last ones. I feel like they were rushed, and posted for the sake of it.

Sorry for all the changes in layouts, I can't promise that I won't be changing it again, I'm still trying to 'perfect' it, or just finding one that I'm happy with.

Leave a comment with any post requests, I reply to all of them!

Thank you so much for reading, have a great day and I will post again sometime this week, bye!x

Top 3 Mascaras - Drugstore & High End

There are many amazing mascaras out there, whether it's drugstore or high end. Personally, I'd rather purchase a drugstore mascara simply because I use them up pretty quickly, meaning a "cheap" mascara is perfect, by "cheap" I mean cheaply priced, not bad quality.

A mascara isn't just about making you lashes darker, it's also about length and volume. I have a preference for long lashes, since mine are naturally short, which means finding the perfect mascara is a must. I've been through many different brands of mascaras, and in my opinion, these are by far the best! There are of course many mascaras that I haven't tried, so if there is one that you think should've been listed in this blog post then please let me know, as I would love to try out the ones you recommend!

Enjoy! :)
"Maybelline Rocket Volum' Express"
This mascara is the least favorite of my favorites, if that makes sense. Maybelline definitely have the best drugstore mascaras, they are just AMAZING for the price. The one I have is waterproof, meaning it is a task to remove, obviously. I'm not sure if the non-waterproof one is difficult to remove, but if you know then let everyone else know in the comments! This mascara is very voluminous and gives great length. Basically, all I need in a mascara! I recommend this to everyone who wants long and dark eyelashes.

"Maybelline the Falsies Volum' Express"
I can't even begin to describe my love for this mascara. As you can tell, I have practically destroyed it, haha, and I definitely need to re-purchase it. You can get versatile looks with this mascara, you could just put one layer of it to get long but still natural lashes, this is a good look for school or work or no-makeup, makeup days! Or you could layer it up and get long, voluminous dark lashes, perfect for that false eyelash look. This was one of my first mascaras and I still, to this day, love it.

"Benefit They're Real!"
This mascara is my all time favorite. I've only had it for about 1-2 months, but it's the best one I have tried. Unfortunately, it is a mission to remove. I believe Benefit have released a remover specifically for they're real, but I doubt I will be purchasing it. Apart from that, I don't see anything else wrong with this mascara. It gives amazing length, leaving your lashes looking semi-natural, basically not too fake and dark. You could build it up to make it look more intense, but I'd rather go with the natural, long lash look. Highly recommend this.

And that is it for today! Let me know what products you'd like me to review next, or just let me know what you'd like to see in the future! Everything I say is of course based on my own opinion and I recommend these products based on my experiences. Please don't base your purchases on my opinions.

Which one, out of the three mascaras, do you prefer?

Thank you so much for reading!

Bye!!xx

Top 3 Drugstore Concealers

For my first 'real' blog post, I am going to "recommend" my favorite drugstore concealers. There are many amazing concealers, but these three are my all time favorites. There is no particular order to these products, I love them all equally. Enjoy! :)

Maybelline Fit Me
(Shades 15 & 20)
This concealer is amazing at covering under eye circles, blemishes, discoloration and redness. Basically anything! I would recommend it as a blemish covering concealer as it's very pigmented. I personally don't use it as a under eye concealer simply because I have another one that I prefer* (scroll down to find it). I do use this on a daily basis and the product tends to last for a long time. These are the shades 15 and 20, as you can tell the concealer comes in many different skin tone shades, the one on the left (shade 20) is a very yellow based concealer in comparison to the right one (shade 15) which is pink based, so finding your shade should be easier then expected.

Revlon Colorstay
(Shades 02 & 03)
Next is a Revlon concealer. This was my first ever concealer! It's better at covering blemishes then under eye circles. It tends to crease easily under the eyes, it does for me anyway, but like I said, good coverage for blemishes and discoloration. All the shades are very yellow toned so it's harder to find the perfect match. I don't use this concealer everyday as I have found others that I personally prefer, but who knows? This concealer could be perfect for you!
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind
(Shade Fair/Clair)
Lastly is another Maybelline concealer*, this one is absolutely AMAZING at covering under eye circles. I use this everyday I wear makeup. It's great coverage with a thin, easy to blend, consistency. The applicator is so gentle on the eye area, and you only need a small amount of product. I always get a shade lighter then my usual tone since it is used to brighten the under eye area. To get an extremely brightened look, be sure to use a brightening powder on top so you don't end up blending it in with the rest of your face products. I only have this in one shade as it was, and still is, the perfect match for my skin.

And that is all! These are MY favorite concealers, what are yours? I'm curious so please let me know! Everything I say is of course based on my own opinion and I recommend these products based on my experience. Please don't base your purchases on my opinions.

Thank you for reading! Look forward to my next blog post sometime this week! Please leave suggestions/recommendations in the comments and I will reply!

Bye! xx

An Introduction To MadForBeauty

Hello everyone!

I am here, writing on my new blog, because I failed at youtube. Let me explain, I absolutely adore anything and everything beauty related, especially makeup. I have a Youtube channel, which I shall not name as there are no videos. I tried to upload a video one day, I filmed and edited it, I was very exited as I love many beauty gurus and dream to have a career like theirs, but as soon as I went to hit upload I froze.. "What if my friends see?".. "What if my teachers see?".. "What if everyone makes fun of me?".. Those were some of the many thoughts going through my mind. Yes, I know it sounds ridiculous but that's just me.

All that just to say that I am much more comfortable writing my opinions and uploading them anonymously (for now).

What is MadForBeauty?
This blogpost will consist of weekly reviews, mostly makeup.
Everything I say is based on my own opinion, obviously.
I am determined to make this my priority, I just hope people enjoy my writing!

Thank you to everyone who reads this. It would mean the world to me if you would share this with your friends and family as writing is also one of m passions.

If you would like me to return the favor of reading your blog post then let me know in the comments and I will.

Look forward to my first ever makeup review! :)

Thanks for reading, bye!
