My Summer Makeup Routine

Hey everyone!

Today I thought I'd mix it up a bit, rather then reviewing random products, I'm going to share my everyday summer makeup routine! I'm trying not to write too much about each product as I have many to go through, but I have reviewed some of these before so I'll link them at the end of the post.

I tend to wear less makeup in the summer simply because I like it to feel nice and lightweight and fresh, and where I live it's VERY hot so the less makeup on my face, the better.

This look is also good to wear to school if you want to keep it quite minimal.

This is my makeup bag...

It's quite simple, it just says MADRID all around. I don't know exactly where it's from as it was a gift, but I'm sure most of you have guessed that its from Madrid. It's a nice size to keep a decent amount of makeup in, and also good for traveling as it has waterproof materiel inside incase of any products spilling or breaking.

I'd like to warn you all about my products, none of them are clean or new, this is what I have been using everyday so it's not going to look like I just took it out of the packaging, sorry if that bothers some of you. :)

Step 1 - Primers
Before applying any makeup, I use 2 primers on my skin. I use Rimmel Stay Matte & Benefit Porefessional. This is to make sure my makeup stays on all day without smudging or creasing. I use the Rimmel primer to keep my skin looking matte because I have quite oily skin, and I use the Benefit primer to minimize the appearance of my pores.

Step 2 - Concealers
After priming, I apply 2 types of concealers, one for blemishes and scarring, and the other for my under-eye are, and to simply highlight the high points of my face.
I use the Collection Lasting Perfection (shade cool medium 2), which was recommended by someone who reads my blog, on my imperfections which at the moment is just scarring, and I use the Rimmel Match Perfection 2 in 1 concealer & highlighter (shade 010 ivory) under my eyes, on the bridge of my nose and on my cupids bow. I use that instead of a real highlighter as it looks a bit more natural.

Step 3 - Powder

Next I apply powder, the shortest and simplest step. I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (shade 004 Sandstorm) because it's really lightweight and is a good combination with the Rimmel primer. As you can see my powder isn't in a very good state at the moment, I was traveling a couple of weeks ago and I didn't have a lid on it so it got quite damaged... But it still works perfectly fine! :) I just use a small amount of this all over my face.

Step 4 - Bronzer

Next I bronze up my face using the Rimmel Natural Bronzer (shade 022 Sun Bronze) as my concealer is a little bit too light for me, I don't contour, I just lightly dust it on my face to give me a natural sun-kissed look, but it's hardly noticeable.

Step 5 - Lip balm

At this point in my makeup application, I tend to have some concealer or powder on my lips so I apply some of the Carmex lip balm. I've heard many good & bad things about this product, but I personally love it.

Step 6 - "Eye Shadow"

Next I apply the Maybelline Color Tattoo (Shade - 70 Barely Branded). This is a simple skin tones eye shadow base. I like to use it on it's own because it's quite shimmery but natural. I just apply this all over my eye-lid and inner corner.

Step 7 - Eyeshadow Stick

Next I apply this Rimmel Eyeshadow Stick (shade - Rose Gold), I put this on my upper and lower lash line like an eyeliner, and then smudge with a brush it to make it look messy. This is a really nice color for people with blue eyes, like myself, as gold makes them stand out.

Step 8 - Eyeliners

My next blog post is going to be my favorite eyeliners (stay tuned for that) so I'm not going to get into the details of this step. I apply NYX eye pencil (shade - black) in my tight line and Rimmel eyeliner (shade - 005 Nude) on my waterline, keeping it nice and simple.

Step 9 - Mascara

To finish off this look, I apply Maybelline the Falsies on my top and bottom lashes, to make them look nice and long.

And that was the last step!

I hope you enjoyed my Summer Makeup Routine, feel free to recreate this simple look!

Stay tuned for next weeks post...

Thank you so much for reading, have a great day!

Goodbye!!xxx

Benefit Box | Review

Hi everyone! I didn't know what to call this post... But today I'm reviewing a "Benefit Box". Basically, I received this as a gift, and I have no clue what it's actually called, so if you know feel free to let everyone else know in the comments. It's probably called "From LeeLee With Love", but I'm not sure haha.

*DISCLAIMER* I have not been sponsored by anyone to share these products. I am not trying to sell these to you, I am just sharing my opinion to anyone who WANT's to purchase these items.

This "Benefit Box" contains 4 items : mascara, lip gloss, primer & perfume.
Everything is full size expect for the perfume which is a sample, although it is a pretty decent size.

This is what the Benefit Box looks like, it's a good size, although a bit big for 4 small products, but not too big. It's nicely decorated so that you could re use it to store other things such as makeup brushes or different products etc... The front of the box says "From LeeLee With LOVE".

Products from left to right - primer, perfume, mascara, lip gloss.

Onto the review...

1. Benefit Porefessional

I have already written a blog post about this product so if you'd like to read more about this products then click here, this just makes your pores look a lot smaller. The good thing about this product is the fact that a small amount of it goes a long way, meaning it lasts a long time. It leave your skin feeling quite silky and smooth which I personally love!
I believe it's around $30, which it quite pricey for a primer, but in my opinion it's worth it. If you want to test this out but don't want to spend the whole price, you can always purchase the "porefessional deluxe sample" for only $8. If you want even more information you can always check the benefit website or like I said I have written a brief summary on this in a different blog post.

2. Laugh with me LeeLee Perfume

Like I said above, this is a sample size, unlike the other 3 products which are full size. The packaging is really cute, as you can tell of the 3rd picture, there is a poem to describe LeeLee which is a nice touch. The only thing I don't like about this sample is the "applicator" (4th picture), but I do know that the full size product has the normal "spritz" applicator, I don't actually know what it's called haha. I personally would rather have a roll-on applicator though. I don't really know how to describe the scent of this perfume, I literally have it in my hand right now trying to figure out the scent.. The full size is $36, and it's actually on sale on the Benefit website at the moment for $26.

3. Benefit They're Real!

This is another products that I have already mentioned in my Top 3 Mascaras post, so if you're interested in finding out more click here. This is great if you have medium lengthen lashes like me because it makes them look super long. The applicator is amazing, and it's really easy to apply, the wand has many bristles, is very straight, and isn't too flexible. The formula is also great, the only problem is that it's difficult to remove, but it's worth it! They have made a remover specifically for this which has good reviews, but I have yet to try it. This mascara is $23 but you can also buy a sample size for only $8.

4. Benefit Dandelion Lip Gloss

I don't wear lip gloss very often because I don't like the feeling of it, but this is one of the exceptions. This is a nice "soft pink", almost a corral color. It is quite sheer, but still nice to wear alone. I don't really have much to say on this as I don't have an interest for lip glosses, but don't get me wrong I do really like this one!

And that's everything!

Feel free to comment below telling me which products you already own!

If you enjoyed this please share this with your friends as it helps me a lot! :)

5 Products I Won't Be Repurchasing

Hi everyone! As you can tell by the title of this post, I'm going to talk about products that I don't plan on repurchasing. I know this is a bit of a negative post, but my others have been positive, and I want to mix it up a bit. If you like the products that I mention, then please don't get offended by my opinion. These products didn't work for me, but that doesn't necessarily mean they won't work for you! I won't be "complaining" about products, I'll be listing the pros and cons of them, so that you can see if these items are for you.

Just in case you're wondering, I did take these pictures with a camera rather than my iPhone, I used a Nikon d3200.

Now here's 5 products I won't be repurchasing...

1. ALMAY LIQUID LINER ( shade - black )

I wouldn't say that this eyeliner is bad, just that it's not for me. I like nice thin applicators, and this one is very thick and it almost comes off clumpy. I also dislike it because it doesn't "store" much product and I find myself dipping in way too much for each eye. The applicator isn't very flexible, making it harder to apply a precise line. That is the only problem with this products, the applicator. The formula of this eyeliner is great and very smooth, so if you don't mind thick lines then this would be fine. It is also very easy to remove, a little to easy if you ask me, meaning it's not sweat-proof haha.

2. RIMMEL Kate Moss Lasting Finish ( Shade - 002 Candy )

I'm just going to start by saying that I don't dislike this brand. I am talking about the shade of the lipstick, not the product. I bought this thinking it was going to be a nice pinky-nude, and I'm sure I can't be the only one who's done that. If you're buying this type of lipstick, maybe do some research first, because this lipstick isn't very wearable. It's more of a metallic finish rather than the matt pink I was hoping for. I'm sure any other shade would look fine, it's just this one. I just thought I'd let everyone know that this isn't what you'd expect. Unless if you like the metallic look!

3. ALMAY Pencil Eyeliner ( shade - 034 Mocha )

I own enough eyeliners, in fact I own too many eyeliners! The reason I bought this one is the fact that it had the "smudge tool"... I'm weird like that. I also just needed a brown eyeliner. This one isn't for me because I like really pigmented eyeliners, and this one is really subtle. It also had little shimmers in it which I personally don't like. This would be perfect for going to school/work and for no makeup, makeup days as it's very natural. I don't think this eyeliner is bad, it's just not my 'type' as I'm used to black pigmented ones.

4. NIVEA a Kiss of Berry Swirl

I love all other Nivea products so please don't get the wrong idea when I say I dislike this one. All I look for in a lip balm is "moisture" and hydration, this one doesn't seem to do that for me. It hydrates them briefly but it seems to wear off very quickly, and I like long lasting lip balms. The plus side of this lip balm is the fact that it looks nice and it smells/tastes AMAZING. That's basically the only reason I still have it. This would be ideal for going to school and wanting a bit of a color on your lips and still being able to say its lip balm if you're not allowed to wear makeup :)

5. SIMPLE Exfoliating Facial Wipes

These wipes are supposed to be 'Kind To Skin'... I don't agree. I know that these are exfoliating wipes and they're meant to be kind of "rough" but these actually scratch my face. In my opinion, there shouldn't be exfoliating wipes, I'd much rather stick to face scrubs or exfoliation face masks. Don't get me wrong, I love simple as a brand, I use the cleansing and eye makeup removing wipes and they're my favorite! I also use a simple face moisturizer but I'll talk more about that in a future post...
*cough* skincare routine *cough*

That is all of 5 products!

Again, if you like these products please don't let my opinion offend you :)

If you would like to add onto this list, please feel free to warn me about products I shouldn't buy in the comments, and also let me know if you've ever tried any of the products above and be sure to share your opinions!

Stay tuned for next week *hint-hint* Benefit Post *hint-hint*

Thank you so much for reading!

I hope you don't mind that this is my second post in one week!

Have a great day and I will post again sometime next week, bye!xx
